Job description

This important Teaching Assistant role will predominantly support children within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), providing an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about nurturing young children and helping them develop a lifelong love of learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Class Teacher and the wider Early Years team to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing. They will play an important role in creating a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential. Through a combination of play-based learning and adult-led activities, the Teaching Assistant will help children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically during these crucial early years.

We are looking for someone who understands the importance of fostering children's confidence, curiosity, creativity, and independence. The successful applicant will be kind, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents. They will support individual pupils and small groups, contribute to classroom preparation and organisation, assist with observations and assessment activities, and help ensure that every child is fully engaged in school life.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young children, preferably within an EYFS or primary school setting, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification would be advantageous, although most importantly we are seeking someone who shares our commitment to providing outstanding care and support for children during these formative years.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work within a welcoming and supportive school community where children are at the heart of everything we do. Our staff are committed, collaborative, and passionate about education, creating an environment in which both children and adults can thrive. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of young learners while developing your own professional skills and experience.

The successful applicant will have experience of working in a similar role within EYFS and have a clear commitment to safeguarding and the wider life of the school. There will be a requirement to work at least one longer day each week to support the Wrap Around Care, this could be either in the early morning and/or late afternoon.
