Job summary

Bright Horizons Caterham The Laurels Nursery is seeking an Early Years Chef to prepare, cook and present nutritious meals for children, with meals planned to suit age groups and dietary needs. You will lead cookery clubs and support nursery activities, ensuring excellent food hygiene and teamwork.

Applicants should have food safety qualifications and COSHH knowledge, plus experience in cooking in domestic or commercial settings.

Qualifications

• Food Safety CIEH L2+ or above (must be passed on day 1)
• Knowledge of COSHH and safe food handling
• Strong communication with children, parents and colleagues
• Experience cooking in a domestic or commercial kitchen

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals for all children
• Cater for dietary requirements and communicate them to teams
• Lead cookery club sessions with children
• Support nursery activities such as BBQs, Fetes and staff meetings

You will ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams, and work in partnership with the team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet.
