Job summary

Bright Horizons Tudor House in Burgess Hill is seeking an Early Years Kitchen Assistant. You will support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals for all children, keeping wastage low and the kitchen clean and safe.

This part-time role (25 hours a week) offers a childcare discount, enhanced parental leave, a pension, wellbeing benefits, and professional development access. DBS check required and safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking in domestic or commercial settings.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergies.
• Food Safety Level 2 or higher required on day 1.
• COSHH knowledge.
• Excellent communication with staff, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals.
• Minimise wastage and keep kitchen clean and safe.
• Run the kitchen in the Chef's absence and communicate dietary needs.
