Job summary

Bright Horizons Woking Day Nursery is seeking an Early Years Chef to prepare, cook and present healthy meals for children with careful portioning and minimal waste. You will tailor menus to cater for allergies and dietary needs and coordinate with staff and parents to promote nutritious eating.

You will also lead cookery sessions and help with nursery events, under guidance from a supportive team in a caring, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) must be passed on day 1.
• Sound knowledge of COSHH and safe food handling.
• Great communication with colleagues, children and parents.
• Ability to manage dietary requirements, including allergies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals with minimal wastage.
• Ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and communicated clearly.
• Lead cookery club sessions and support nursery activities.
• Participate in events such as BBQs, Fetes and staff meetings.

You will ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams, and work in partnership with the team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet.
