Job summary

Bright Horizons Elm Grove Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking an Early Years Field Chef to cover nurseries in the Kingston and Surbiton area. You will travel to sites, prepare and present meals for children, ensuring dietary needs are met and communicating them to teams.

You will keep accurate kitchen records, maintain food safety standards, and support nursery management with orders. A clean driving licence is required for this role and multiple shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial catering is essential.
• Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and allergies.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
• Excellent communication with colleagues, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Travel to nurseries within a region to cover for the permanent chef.
• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals with minimum wastage.
• Communicate dietary requirements clearly to nursery teams.
• Maintain kitchen records and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Support nursery management with food ordering and stock control.

You will ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams and will work in partnership with the nursery teams to support the nursery care and education provision.
