Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking an Early Years Field Chef to travel across our nurseries in the Basingstoke and Chineham areas to cover for annual leave or sickness. You will prepare and present nutritious meals for children, catering to dietary needs with minimal waste.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a commercial catering role.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
• Knowledge of managing different dietary requirements (allergies).
• Food Safety Level 2 or above (must be passed on day 1).
• Strong communication with colleagues, children and parents.
• Willingness to travel across nurseries and have own transport.

Responsibilities

• Travel to nurseries within the region to cover when permanent Chef is away or absent.
• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals with minimum wastage.
• Cater for dietary requirements and communicate to teams.
• Keep accurate kitchen records and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Support nursery management with food ordering.

You will ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams and will work in partnership with the nursery teams to support the nursery care and education provision.
