Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a Learning and Teaching Adviser with a strong focus on Early Years and phonics. The role involves coaching, advisory support, and CPD delivery to strengthen quality teaching in EYFS across schools.

The successful candidate will contribute to improving provision and curriculum while supporting disadvantaged learners and transitions to Year 1. A flexible arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Specialist skills and knowledge in early years practice and phonics.
• Some experience of transition into Year 1 would be beneficial.
• Understanding of barriers to learning for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Ability to design and deliver CPD and briefing sessions on EYFS developments.
• Role may be shared or seconded for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, coaching support, and CPD on all aspects of effective quality first teaching in EYFS and phonics.
• Support delivery of the Best Start in Life project and assist schools with improving provision, environment design, and curriculum.
• Design and deliver CPD and briefing sessions on the latest EYFS developments.
