Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher for a full-time, long-term role at a Coventry area school. You will deliver captivating lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage, with a focus on phonics and early reading development.

The ideal candidate will hold UK QTS, have KS1 experience and a hands-on approach to differentiation and behaviour management. This position offers stable hours, ongoing school collaboration, and a strong support network

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
• Experience working with children in Early Years and KS1.
• Phonics training or demonstrable experience delivering phonics.
• Two professional references from recent employers.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through TeacherActive.
• The Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
• Deliver high-quality phonics sessions to support early reading development.
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress.
• Complete marking and assessment in accordance with school policies.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
• Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school training.
• Attend parents' evenings and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
