Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking an EYFS Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a primary classroom in Leeds (LS4). This part-time role offers a competitive daily rate and long-term opportunities, with flexibility for potential transition to full-time.

The successful candidate will deliver Little Wandle phonics sessions, conduct EYFS observations, and support children's social, emotional and academic development while liaising closely with teachers, parents and staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be confident teaching phonics interventions and small group sessions.
  • Experience using the Little Wandle phonics programme.
  • Able to conduct and record EYFS observations accurately.
  • Experience supporting children within an EYFS setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Nurturing, proactive and child-centred approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the EYFS classroom.
  • Deliver Little Wandle phonics sessions to individuals and small groups.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt support as required.
  • Conduct detailed observations in line with EYFS requirements.
  • Contribute to assessments, learning journeys and developmental records.
  • Support children's social, emotional and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and wider school staff.
  • Part-time role with flexibility for a conversation about hours.

Are you an experienced EYFS Specialist Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young learners during the crucial early stages of their education?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in LS4. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and can make a positive impact on children's learning and development.

Essential Requirements

Must be confident teaching phonics interventions and small group sessions

Must have experience using the Little Wandle phonics programme

Must be able to conduct and record EYFS observations accurately

Experience supporting children within an EYFS setting

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A nurturing, proactive and child-centred approach

The Role
  • Supporting teaching and learning across the EYFS classroom.
