Job summary

Leagrave Primary School seeks an enthusiastic Early Years Educator & Phonics Intervention Specialist on a part-time basis (3 days per week). You will support learning, development and wellbeing in line with the EYFS, delivering phonics interventions and building strong relationships with children, families and staff.

Key duties include planning structured phonics sessions (Little Wandle), safeguarding, creating resources, and assisting with playground supervision and first aid as needed.

Qualifications

• NNEB/BTEC/NVQ3 in childcare or equivalent qualification.
• HLTA standards (NVQ4) or equivalent early years qualification or experience.
• Little Wandle phonics program familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals and groups to support pupils' learning.
• Engage daily with teachers and parents as appropriate.
• Prepare educational resources and carry out clerical duties.
• Collaborate with teaching team to meet pupils' needs.
• Assist with playground supervision and group supervision of children.
• Provide first aid and personal care as required.
• Plan and deliver high-quality phonics sessions following Little Wandle; ensure fidelity across groups.
• Support pupils for statutory milestones, including phonics screening checks.
• Deliver daily phonics lessons and keep up/ catch-up interventions for at-risk pupils.
