Job summary

Adur & Worthing Councils is looking for a physically fit HGV driver/loader to join our refuse collection team. You will drive a HGV kerbside vehicle and load waste with a three-person crew across Adur and Worthing, delivering a reliable kerbside service to households and local businesses.

The role requires a Category C HGV license (max three penalty points), NVQ Level 2 in waste management operations, knowledge of local authority refuse/recycling operations, and a commitment to Health and Safety

Qualifications

• Hold full category C HGV licence with no more than three penalty points.
• Knowledge of local area and local authority refuse/recycling operations.
• NVQ Level 2 in waste management operations or equivalent.
• Understanding of Performance, Risk and Reputation Management.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

Responsibilities

• Drive a HGV kerbside vehicle and load waste as part of a three-person crew.
• Ensure a quality kerbside refuse/recycling service across Adur and Worthing.
• Operate in all weather conditions and cooperate as a team.
