Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a 3-month contract HGV Driver/Loader to support a local authority in Kidderminster. You will operate Class 2 vehicles, perform fleet checks, and work with loaders to ensure timely, compliant refuse collection.

The role runs 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a bi-weekly schedule. A valid Class 2 HGV licence and experience in outdoor environments are essential, along with a focus on health and safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence is essential.
• Experience in refuse collection or outdoor, physically demanding work.
• Ability to operate safely and efficiently with loaders on routes.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 2 HGV vehicles for refuse and recycling collection.
• Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
• Use tachograph cards and comply with driving hours and regulations.
• Collaborate with loaders to collect waste efficiently on designated routes.
• Load and handle waste per council procedures.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and use PPE properly.
• Attend mandatory inductions and training sessions.
