Job summary

North Devon Council is seeking an HGV driver to operate refuse/recycling freighters or a road sweeper up to 26 tonnes, on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting around 6:30am, with some Saturday work around bank holidays.

The role includes manual collection, sweeping rounds, and ensuring rounds meet schedules. A valid HGV Class C or C+E licence is essential, along with good local area knowledge; experience with refuse/recycling vehicles is

Qualifications

• HGV Class C or C+E licence held with valid status.
• Good knowledge of the local area.
• Experience driving refuse, recycling or sweeping vehicles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manually collect recycling containers, refuse sacks, wheelie bins or special collections.
• Work on trade, domestic or street sweeping rounds.
• Manually sweep, litter pick and empty litter bins.
• Ensure rounds or sweeping schedules are completed satisfactorily.
