Job summary

Stantec is seeking an early-career Geoarchaeological Consultant to join its growing archaeology and heritage team in the UK. You will support assessment, reporting, fieldwork and data interpretation under the Geoarchaeology Lead, developing towards independent practice with mentored training.

Your role includes compiling geological and archaeological data, preparing GIS outputs, figures and tables, and contributing to deposit models and digital outputs.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Archaeology, Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• Dissertation, research, placement or field experience in geoarchaeology or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of geoarchaeological consultancy across assessment, reporting, fieldwork and data interpretation.
• Develop towards independent practice under supervision by Geoarchaeology Lead.
• Prepare figures, GIS outputs, plans and tables for technical reports.
• Attend site visits and ground investigations; record sediments and stratigraphic sequences.
• Contribute to data management and digital outputs, including GIS-based project information and deposit models.
