Job summary

Stantec is growing its geoarchaeology capability and seeks an early-career Geoarchaeological Consultant to join a team of over 30 professionals. You will support assessment, reporting and fieldwork under guidance, developing towards independent practice with a structured mentorship pathway.

You will compile datasets, draft sections of reports, and participate in field investigations, GIS outputs, and deposit modelling while progressing toward Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Archaeology, Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences or related.
• Master’s in Geoarchaeology or related preferred but not essential.
• Experience with sediment description and stratigraphic interpretation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of geoarchaeological consultancy services across assessment, reporting, fieldwork and data interpretation.
• Compile geological, geomorphological, geotechnical and environmental datasets and prepare assessments.
• Attend site visits, record sediments and stratigraphic sequences, and support monitoring of investigations.
• Contribute to GIS outputs, digital mapping and deposit models; develop digital/AI approaches as skills grow.
