Job summary

Stantec in the United Kingdom is seeking an early-career Geoarchaeological Consultant to join our archaeology and heritage team. You will work under the Geoarchaeology Lead and develop toward independent practice with a clear progression path.

The role covers assessment, reporting, fieldwork and data interpretation, with opportunities to develop GIS and deposit modelling skills within a supportive consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Archaeology, Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences or related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Geoarchaeology, Environmental Archaeology, Quaternary Science, Geomorphology or related subject preferred.
• Dissertation, research, placement, or field experience in geoarchaeology, environmental archaeology, Quaternary science or sedimentary analysis.
• Interest in buried landscape reconstruction and Quaternary environments.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of geoarchaeological consultancy across assessment, reporting and fieldwork.
• Prepare figures, GIS outputs, plans and tables; draft sections of technical reports.
• Attend site visits and ground investigations; describe sediments and stratigraphic sequences.
• Develop deposit models and contribute to digital outputs and data management.
