Job summary

LILA in Liverpool is seeking an EAL Teacher & Coordinator to lead and coordinate our English as an Additional Language provision across partner schools while delivering high-quality teaching which enables pupils to thrive academically and socially.

The postholder will build and maintain strong relationships with schools, support the continuous development of LILA's EAL offer and ensure provision reflects current best practice and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• PGCE is ideal but not necessary.
• Trinity TESOL is also accepted as are some other 120-hr TEFL qualifications.
• Be trained in health and safety awareness such as first aid/fire marshal, training available by LILA*.
• Attend safeguarding training & participate in steps raising staff awareness of the companys legal duty of care to under 18 students and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective, stimulating lessons while respecting beliefs and cultures.
• Manage pupil behaviour to ensure maximum benefit from tuition.
• Consult with academic management, administration, and school directors as appropriate.
• Consult with co-teachers and other colleagues.
• Keep accurate registers, records of work and draft academic reports as required.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress via learning plans and inform future planning.
• Attend meetings and be observed for standardisation and development.
• Promote British values, equality, diversity and inclusion in teaching and interactions.
