Job summary

CHS South in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 3 with a focus on EAL to join our dedicated team. This permanent post is 35 hours per week, term time plus 1 week, supporting pupils with English language needs.

You will work with teachers to plan and deliver EAL support, track progress, and contribute to assessments. The role emphasizes inclusion, safeguarding, and collaboration within the school community.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of supporting pupils with EAL in a secondary or similar setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted EAL support programmes for individuals or small groups.
• Support pupils' development of spoken and written English, including vocabulary and academic language.
• Work with teachers to plan, deliver and adapt EAL strategies in lessons.
• Maintain records of pupil progress and contribute to assessments and reviews.
