Job summary

Prospere Learning Trust is seeking a Grade 4 EAL Support Assistant for a permanent, full-time role (35 hours/week, term-time plus 1 week). The post offers a pro rata salary of £22,710, with a full-time equivalent of £26,403.

The role involves delivering targeted EAL support to pupils and contributing to inclusive classroom practice across the school. You will work with individuals, small groups and occasionally whole classes, collaborating with teachers to plan, deliver and adapt EAL strategies

Qualifications

• Experience delivering EAL interventions in a school setting.
• Ability to support pupils\' English language development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver EAL support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted EAL support programmes for individuals and small groups, including support for newly arrived pupils.
• Support pupils\' development of spoken and written English, including vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and academic language.
• Use specialist EAL knowledge and strategies to support access to the curriculum across subject areas.
• Promote inclusion, confidence and independence for pupils with EAL.
• Act as a positive role model and build strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and pupils.
• Support pupils\' pastoral, social and emotional needs as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, deliver and adapt EAL support and classroom strategies.
• Contribute to lesson planning, preparation of resources and evaluation of learning activities.
• Maintain accurate records
