Job summary

Oasis Academy Fir Vale in Sheffield is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs and help them access learning. You will work under teaching staff to deliver focused interventions, maintain classroom resources and support assessment activities.

The role emphasises SEND/EAL support, inclusive practice and safeguarding, with a collaborative team committed to high expectations and pupil success.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND, EAL and additional learning needs.
• Inclusive practice and removing barriers to learning.
• Confidence in using ICT to support teaching, learning and assessment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and external professionals.
• Strong organisational skills and flexible to school needs.
• Safeguarding, equality, inclusion and Oasis values commitment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND and EAL to access learning.
• Deliver targeted learning and support programmes under supervision.
• Monitor and report pupil progress and development.
• Prepare, maintain and organise teaching materials and resources.
• Attend staff meetings and training opportunities.
• Provide ad-hoc classroom cover when required.
