Overview

The Premier League's Youth Development team is seeking an Education Curriculum Manager to support the implementation of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). This long-term plan aims to help young individuals achieve their potential both on and off the field, while also supporting the development and personal growth of elite players.

The Education Curriculum Manager will lead the planning, development, and implementation of high-quality curricula across various qualifications, including Level 2 NCFE, Level 3 SEP Apprenticeship, Level 3 BTEC, and A-Level qualifications. This role involves coordinating and managing the A Level Virtual School academic calendars, timetabling, and lesson schedules in collaboration with Clubs. The manager will ensure curriculum design aligns with awarding body requirements, regulatory standards, and best practices in teaching and learning, while also leading the development of innovative curriculum initiatives.

Additionally, the manager will support internal and external A Level quality assurance processes, oversee monitoring of scholar progress and outcomes, and lead the administration and compliance processes for A Level qualifications and the A Level Virtual School.

Who we are

The Premier League is home to some of the most competitive and compelling football in the world. The League and its Clubs use the power and popularity of the competition to inspire fans, communities, and partners in the UK and across the world. The Premier League brings people together from all backgrounds. It is a competition for everyone, everywhere, and is available to watch in over 900 million homes in 189 countries.

We have a wide variety of responsibilities, including organising the competition and its Handbook, managing centralised broadcast and commercial rights, supporting youth development, protecting intellectual property, supporting community programs, international development work, and liaising with governing bodies and other leagues.

The Premier League is an equal opportunities employer and strives to create an inclusive culture where talent can flourish. We believe in the potential of everyone and encourage applications from women, minority ethnic communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and disabled people.

Our hybrid-working model offers flexibility, allowing staff to work from home some days each week, with in-office or site visits as per policy. Staff coordinate with their line managers to manage their time effectively.

  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of curricula across Level 2 NCFE, Level 3 SEP Apprenticeship, Level 3 BTEC, A-Level qualifications, and the Premier League A Level Virtual School.
  • Coordinate and manage the A Level Virtual School academic calendars, timetabling, and lesson schedules in collaboration with Clubs.
  • Ensure curriculum design aligns with awarding body requirements, regulatory standards, and best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Lead the development of innovative curriculum initiatives and regularly review teaching materials for relevance and quality.

  • Support internal and external quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Monitor scholar progress and outcomes, using data to identify gaps and implement interventions.
  • Manage administration and compliance for A Level qualifications and the Virtual School, including enrolment, progress tracking, assessment, and access arrangements.
  • Implement standardised assessment practices across subjects, including BTEC, A-Levels, and the Virtual School.
  • Produce reports for reviews, audits, and self-assessment processes.

Teaching, Learning, and Staff Development

  • Monitor teaching quality through observations and feedback, supporting high-quality teaching via coaching, mentoring, and CPD.
  • Lead professional development activities, including workshops and training events, promoting evidence-informed teaching strategies and innovation.

A Level Virtual School Delivery

  • Oversee the Virtual School platform's effective use, monitoring engagement, assessment, and outcomes via KPIs.
  • Coordinate Virtual School events such as inductions, subject talks, open evenings, and revision workshops.
