Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacist - Oncology / Haemotology based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This is a 12 months fixed-term post to cover maternity leave.
What you will do:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join the Cancer Clinical pharmacy team in NHS Ayrshire & Arran and be involved in delivering a clinical oncology service to both inpatients and outpatients in Ayrshire and Arran.
You will become an integral member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, within an established team of Clinical Oncology Pharmacists. The pharmacy team provide a clinical verification role as well as enhanced roles such as non-medical prescribers within breast, colorectal, urology and Haematological malignancies. The team work closely with regional colleagues on protocol and guideline development. This post will allow you the opportunity to develop experience in both oncology and haematological malignancies through a rotational programme.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will possess an interest in specialising in Cancer Care and a desire to drive forward clinical cancer pharmacy services. You will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and work effectively as part of the pharmacy and wider multidisciplinary team. Full training will be provided for those without Clinical Oncology experience.
We actively support development of our staff and applicants not currently holding a practice prescribing certificate will be supported to complete this. NHS Ayrshire & Arran benefits from automated dispensing and electronic prescribing for both chemotherapy and inpatient and outpatient prescribing.

Hours:
30 hours per week.
You will participate in weekend, public holiday and extended hours rotas as required. The post will have a base site of University Hospital Crosshouse for the purposes of on-call rota, weekend working and late night rotas. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and or an extended working day.

A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
