Job summary

A leading company in the food industry is seeking a QA Technician to ensure quality standards across raw materials and finished products. The role involves conducting analyses, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting sensory activities. Ideal candidates will have a background in science, practical QA experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working within QA / Sensory.
  • Practical experience of Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Fluency in MS Office and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality sampling, analysis & reporting for various materials.
  • Support sensory activities and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with complaint investigations.

QA Technician

Peterborough, UK


Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality sampling, analysis & reporting for raw materials, work in progress, finished products and environmental samples.
  • Timely and accurate maintenance of data systems to ensure compliance to traceability standards and key performance indicators.
  • Support sensory activities: taste panels, sample preparation, sample collection, sample submissions, processing of results.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP), good laboratory practices (GLP), and master cleaning schedules (MCS).
  • Ensure compliance with Company, third-party, and Customer standards demonstrated by successful completion of inter-lab proficiency schemes, routine refresher training, and competency assessments.
  • Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
  • Assist with complaint investigations, analyzing data, and providing information as required.
  • Participate in root cause analysis processes for the site, representing QA / sensory and providing expertise.
  • Conduct internal audits (quality systems, food safety, glass, and Health & Safety).
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working within QA / Sensory.
  • Practical experience of Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Further educated to HNC or equivalent in a science subject (preferably chemistry / biochemistry).
  • Fluency and confidence in using Outlook, MS Teams, SharePoint, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels within the business as well as with external contractors.
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data.
