Job Description

The Material Handler performs routine manual duties in handling materials supporting all aspects of the production operation, including kitting, transfer of materials, attending stockroom, materials distribution, and following established procedures. The Material Handler-Water Spider must perform duties as defined in the Standard Work Chart and also handle essential functions for the shipping/receiving area.

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine tasks involving replenishing and distributing materials to the manufacturing floor within the Standard Work Chart, including delivering required materials to Business Cells on a determined schedule.
2. Retrieve all finished goods/kits from each Business Cell for inventory purposes.
3. Interface with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and other departments to reconcile inventory concerns.
4. Maintain daily inventory transactions.
5. Accurately pull materials for kits according to production orders, with a full understanding of FIFO systems.
6. Check and fill shortages in kits or work-in-progress.
7. Assist with data entry of stockroom and shipping transactions daily.
8. Perform cycle counting and assist with the annual inventory of the stockroom.
9. Follow established procedures to service all stock requisitions.
10. Be cross-trained in all shipping/receiving duties and responsibilities.
11. Suggest methods for continuous improvement.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; at least two (2) years of Receiving/Shipping experience.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with high accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.
• Good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative relationships.
