Job Description:

This leading provider of specialist education is seeking a 3rd Line Engineer to join their team. You will deliver third-line support, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various business areas, escalate problems when necessary, and collaborate with other IT teams on complex investigations.

This role offers a hybrid working scheme; candidates must be able to reliably commute to Bolton. A driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and resolve incidents, major incidents, problems, and service requests with timely updates and escalations.
• Act as the first escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support engineers.
• Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with infrastructure and software teams.
• Oversee configuration and management of user accounts, permissions, and devices.
• Administer applications, deploy using InTune or Microsoft System Centre, and support cloud telephone systems and networking equipment.
• Identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and contribute to Service Improvement Plans with the IT Service Desk Manager.
• Support remote sites, manage server environments, and handle Cyber and Infrastructure P1 incidents to ensure optimal service delivery.

Key Skills:

• Experience in 2nd/3rd line support, with knowledge of desktop, server platforms, and IT infrastructure.
• Experience working within an ITIL framework.
• Strong diagnostic skills for hardware, software, and OS issues.
• Experience creating knowledge base articles and broad technical knowledge of current software and peripherals.
• Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SharePoint, Veeam, Cisco Meraki, Unifi, Sophos, Jamf, and InTune.
• IT qualification or related degree is desirable.
