Job summary
This a full time Senior Clinical Fellow post in Gastroenterology in response to Service need. The post will be fixed term for 4 months until September 2025
We are looking for a doctor to join us in the Gastroenterology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. The roles will have inpatient and outpatient duties. While this will be a service post, there will be training opportunities available to successful applicants.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.
Main duties of the job
The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.
All employees, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management
The post will largely be involved in providing high quality inpatient care to our large cohort of Gastroenterology inpatients. The inpatient teams are divided into 3 (luminal Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition) and the successful applicant will likely rotate through these teams. The Department runs a 7 day a week 8am-8pm on call Gastroenterology Middle Grade Rota for Gastroenterology emergencies which the appointee will be expected to contribute to. There will be opportunities to attend Outpatient clinics. This will be a combination of service provision and training opportunity. There will be opportunities to attend MDTs and get exposure to and experience Endoscopy.
The appointee will be allocated a Clinical/Educational Supervisor so that training opportunities and personal development are identified and planned for
