We currently have an opportunity for a Demand Performance Manager to join our Water Resources team, based in Exeter or Bristol. As Demand Performance Manager, you will support the delivery of demand reduction targets by reviewing benefits and optimizing strategies across the South West Water, Bristol Water, Bournemouth Water, and Isles of Scilly regions.

About the role:

The Demand Team develops and reviews strategies for demand reduction, including leakage and per capita consumption, setting targets approved by the Executive. The team provides technical leadership, strategy, and monitoring for demand management over short, medium, and long-term horizons, playing a critical role in demand planning and delivery. Your responsibilities include monitoring, reporting, forecasting, and recommending adaptations to meet demand targets.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Leading daily monitoring, analysis, and forecasting of demand activities.
  2. Implementing monitoring systems to track benefits and demand changes.
  3. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  4. Assessing and recommending adaptations to current activities to meet demand targets, engaging stakeholders for approval and implementation.
  5. Compiling evidence and reviewing performance for future investment decisions.
  6. Analyzing water consumption and demand trends, preparing reports on their drivers and impacts.
  7. Presenting findings to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
  8. Maintaining accurate documentation of monitoring activities and methodologies.
  9. Conducting audits to verify data integrity.
  10. Collaborating with internal teams to understand data needs and priorities.
  11. Ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting.
  12. Overseeing staff involved in data activities.
  13. Participating in Smart Metering and SDBI delivery teams to achieve project outcomes.
  14. Engaging in research, professional development, and knowledge sharing.
  15. Developing budgets and resource plans aligned with strategic priorities.
What we are looking for:
  • Degree in Science, Environment, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in water resources management, hydrology, or related areas.
  • Experience in water demand monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Project management experience, including delivering through others.
  • Knowledge of water management practices, regulations, and policies.
  • Understanding of hydrological principles related to demand and forecasting.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Salary: £44,000 - £48,000 per year.
