They are looking for a high performer to join CFC as they build the underwriting team of the future.
The team is a market leader in providing professional liability solutions for SME businesses, as well as a developing book of middle market and larger accounts. As a team of 21, they insure over 13,500 clients and consider over 50,000 submissions a year.
As one of the largest professional liability teams in London, focusing on protecting US-based clients, this role offers exposure to a wide variety of risks. As an underwriter on the US Professions team, you will handle key aspects of the underwriting process, including new business and renewal underwriting, responding to broker queries, managing portfolios, and driving broker development.
You will work directly with brokers from day one, with training and support provided by other team members to understand the products, appetite, and broker base.
We seek a driven individual who strives for high performance, enjoys teamwork, and is eager to develop skills and share knowledge with junior team members. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of underwriting or broking experience in professional liability (E&O), preferably with multi-class exposure. Experience with US business is advantageous but not essential; a keen interest to gain such experience is acceptable.
You should have a sales orientation, problem-solving skills, strong numerical ability, and attention to detail. A strong work ethic and excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. The candidate should be motivated to join an ambitious, high-performance team and be part of building the underwriting team of the future.
