A leading company in the rail sector is seeking a Commercial Director to drive commercial strategy and growth. The ideal candidate will have international experience and a knack for relationship building. This role offers a competitive salary and the chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
Commercial Director
Have you ever walked into a business and quietly thought… there’s more here? Not in a flashy way, just that instinctive sense that with a bit of clarity, a bit of direction, things could really shift. That’s exactly where this business is. A leadership change has opened the door for a different kind of approach, one that puts commercial strategy at the heart of what happens next.
There’s already someone solid on the operational side, dependable, capable, keeps things moving. But commercially? That’s where you come in. As Commercial Director, you’ll bring the bigger picture into focus, you’ll spot opportunities that others might miss, help shape the next phase of growth. And lead a team that already knows what they’re doing. They just need someone who can help them think a little broader, push a little further.
This isn’t about fixing chaos; the foundations are solid, the product is well regarded, and the team is capable. But it’s a business that’s evolving, and they’re ready for you as Commercial Director… someone who can evolve with them.
You might have worked in or around the rail sector; if you have, you’ll know it’s a world built on trust and long-term relationships. But even more valuable is your international experience—whether it’s the US, Japan, the Far East, or Saudi—you’ll understand the nuance of those markets and how to build something that lasts.
The product is technical, but you don’t need to be an engineer. What matters is your curiosity, your ability to dig in, understand how it works, and translate that into conversations that make sense for both customers and internal teams.
If you're someone who thrives in that space between stability and change, someone who can balance direction with delivery, this could be the role you’ve been waiting for.
You will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £80,000-£110,000, a company vehicle, BUPA, and a bonus.
Based in the Leicestershire area with some flexibility in the office, but a lot of your time will be out and about in front of customers globally.
This is a brand-new role waiting for you as Commercial Director that you can really put your stamp on. This role is exclusive to Marshall Harmony. You won’t be contacted by any third parties.
