CLAIMS EXECUTIVE
Location: London
We are seeking an experienced Claims Professional with a background in handling Commercial Property Claims.
This role demands strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining a commercial focus.
The position involves working closely with members, solicitors, loss adjusters, and other service providers to ensure claims are handled effectively and in accordance with the provided covers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of Property claims from notification to settlement, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
- Assist with Liability, Travel, and Professional Indemnity claims as needed.
- Refer claims outside individual handling authority per referral requirements.
- Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering necessary information and evidence.
- Assess coverage, legal liability, and quantum; negotiate settlements and mitigate potential losses.
- Liaise with members, third parties, and service providers to ensure fair claim outcomes.
- Handle tasks promptly and to a high standard, adhering to claims handling procedures, internal policies, Claims Charter, and regulatory requirements, including UK data protection legislation.
- Review claim reserves regularly for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of all claim activities within internal systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service, keeping members informed throughout the claims process, including at claim conclusion.
- Support the wider claims team and contribute to process improvements.
- Collaborate across departments such as underwriting, risk management, accounts, IT, and marketing to ensure high service levels.
- Participate in meetings with members and service providers, preparing necessary documentation.
- Monitor service providers' performance, quality, and cost to ensure market-leading, cost-effective service delivery.
- Engage in individual and shared projects and assignments as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience handling Commercial Property claims.
- Exposure to Liability, Travel, and Professional Indemnity claims is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of insurance and claims handling principles, coverage, legal liability, and quantum assessment.
- First-class customer focus and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
