Howden, Corporate & Commercial are looking for a Claims Executive responsible for proactively managing all claims from cradle to grave, ensuring high-quality professional advice to clients throughout the process.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Bedford office, with an average onsite presence of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities include:
  • Attending client premises following large or complex losses and assisting with investigations to facilitate satisfactory settlement.
  • Monitoring and analyzing claim trends with Risk Management.
  • Building relationships with insurers, loss adjusters, and partners.
  • Maintaining an open ’early warning’ culture to identify and address issues early.
  • Ensuring clear communication within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Assisting in securing new clients and promoting our 'Excellence in Claims' services.
  • Keeping updated on new products and markets.
  • Training and mentoring team members.
  • Producing claims reports and attending client meetings as needed.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of main classes of General Insurance, CII’s Code of Ethics, and GDPR.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with cross-class products is desirable.
  • Commitment to personal development and CPD.
Skills:
  • Strong technical insurance skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Efficient work processing and prioritization.
  • Negotiation and broking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication to client understanding.
Qualifications:
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • A levels (desirable).
