Job description

A prominent UK Trade Association seeks a CEO to lead and develop the strategic direction and initiatives that support Members in facing challenges such as decarbonisation, sustainability, access to mineral resources, and regulatory issues.

The new CEO will ensure effective communication channels are leveraged to represent Members' interests to stakeholders including Government, regulatory agencies, industry partners, and the public. The role involves highlighting the sector's economic, social, and environmental contributions and advocating for policies that protect the industry's licence to operate.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Direction: Analyze the social and political environment, develop strategic initiatives, and serve as the principal advisor to the Board while leading the management team.
2. Sector Advocacy: Engage with stakeholders, maintain high-profile representation, and communicate policies to influence government and regulatory decisions.
3. Member Engagement: Build relationships with Members, provide timely information, and ensure high-quality service to attract and retain Members.
4. Operational Management: Oversee safety, financial stewardship, legal compliance, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

What are we looking for in you?

• An established senior executive, either within the Trade Association sector or a related senior B2B sector, with a passion to learn quickly.
• Relevant sector expertise in mineral products or construction preferred, but experience in related sectors is acceptable.
• Management experience at Board level, with strong financial and operational skills.
• An inclusive leadership style that fosters teamwork and external representation.
