The Leveraged Finance Large Corporates team in EMEA, part of BBVA’s Investment Banking & Finance group within the Corporate & Investment Banking division, is based in Madrid, London, and other locations.

This team handles the origination, structuring, underwriting, and execution of LBO and leveraged corporate financing transactions for sub-investment grade clients, focusing on bonds and loans within an originate-to-distribute model.

About the role:

As a Managing Director, your responsibilities include:

1. Developing deep client relationships and advising on capital markets access to secure mandates.
2. Enhancing market intelligence through collaboration with external parties and internal teams to gauge investor appetite.
3. Formulating underwriting and distribution strategies, managing stakeholder approvals.
4. Leading origination activities for HY Bonds, Term Loan Bs, and other syndicated facilities, including financial modeling, analysis, documentation, and marketing.
5. Managing live deal execution across high-yield bonds and loans.
6. Mentoring junior team members and fostering their development.

The role requires strong quantitative skills, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.

Additional Tasks:

1. Monitoring market trends and identifying new business opportunities.
2. Leading pitch processes and client interactions.
3. Preparing client materials, financial analyses, and market updates.
4. Advising clients on financing strategies related to acquisitions and refinancing.
5. Reviewing new business opportunities and preparing internal memos for approval.
6. Handling documentation, covenants, and external deal materials.
7. Supporting external deal processes and syndication materials.
8. Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.
