Role Type: Hybrid, WFH 1 day per week

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary Range: £80K-£110K + 20% bonus(10% global / 10% UK) + ESOP

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead Fresho’s UK operations. This strategic role will drive business growth, build lasting relationships with key customers and suppliers, scale the local team, and work in close partnership with our Australian headquarters to implement the long-term strategy for the UK market.

Success in this role will be defined by the successful scaling of Fresho UK operations, meeting business growth targets, and developing a high-performing team that drives continued expansion and customer satisfaction in the UK.

This is a hybrid position working from both our London HQ (at the Fisheries) and working from home is available 1 day per week.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Representation
  • General Representation of Fresho UK: Serve as the key decision-maker and face of Fresho in the UK, driving the company’s mission, values, and culture. Lead key strategic decisions to establish Fresho’s UK presence and reputation.

  • Day to Day Running of Fresho UK: ensure smooth operations, compliance with local regulations, and seamless integration with the global business.

  • Strategy Development & Execution: Work with Fresho Pty Ltd to define, refine, and implement the long-term strategy for Fresho UK in alignment with company objectives and our strategic vision.

  • UK Industry Expertise: Represent the UK team as the industry expert in various events and marketing efforts such as podcasts, media and thought leadership activities.

  • Founder Mentality: Treat day to day activities and decisions with a passion for our mission and represent Fresho UK with the psyche of a founding member.

Business Development, Customer Relationship Management & Partnerships
  • Business Development and Sales: Lead business growth initiatives and develop new sales opportunities to achieve revenue targets in the UK market.

  • Onboarding New Customers and Suppliers: Support the Onboarding Team lead to oversee the seamless onboarding of new customers and suppliers, ensuring a positive and efficient experience.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and suppliers, ensuring their needs are met and fostering loyalty.

  • Account Management: Own key account relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving long-term loyalty and revenue growth. Be the point of escalation and going above and beyond to handle high-pressure churn situations.

  • Partnerships: Develop and explore partner relationships alongside our marketing team.

Team Management & Organisational Development
  • Hiring & Team Building: Lead the recruitment, hiring, and development of the UK team, ensuring alignment with Fresho’s culture and values. Develop a network of talented individuals to ensure a talent pipeline for new roles

  • Cultural Force: Exemplify and promote Fresho’s global values and maintain a constant focus on cultural and office atmosphere.

  • People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with Fresho’s culture and values while actively managing performance to drive team success.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global departments (such as marketing, product, and customer success) to align UK operations with overall company strategy.

Finance
  • Own P&L: Manage the UK P&L, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving profitability through effective revenue and cost management.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process and update forecasts regularly to reflect market changes and operational adjustments.

  • Monthly P&L Analysis: Conduct monthly reviews of the P&L, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to the leadership team.

  • Accounts Receivable Follow-Up: Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and maintaining healthy cash flow.

  • Present Strategy: Regularly communicate financial performance and strategy to the UK team, fostering accountability and alignment with business goals.

Operational Management & Process Improvement
  • Administrative Processes & Systems: Own the improvement of administrative processes and operational systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability for Fresho UK’s growth.

  • Collaboration with Head Office: Coordinate with Fresho’s head office for back-office support, including technology, legal, and finance operations.

  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Understand local trends, customer demands, and competitors, providing actionable insights to inform strategy.

  • Feedback Loop & UK Product Representative: Act as a key conduit between the UK market and the global product team, providing actionable insights and feedback on app improvements to drive platform evolution.

  • Contracting External Advisors: Liaise with external advisers such as accountants, lawyers, and auditors to ensure compliance and strategic financial management.

  • General Management Duties: Handle additional duties as required, ensuring smooth operations and growth in the UK market.

Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a SaaS business, tech scale-up, or similar industry.

  • Strong commercial experience with proven sales results.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to drive growth and profitability.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and customer success.

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Deep understanding of the UK fresh food distribution market and hospitality.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies that align with long-term company goals.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with experience managing key customer and supplier relationships.

  • A hands-on, player & coach, solution-focused approach with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal teams and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Experience working with international teams and collaborating across multiple time zones.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a track record of driving results independently and proactively managing change.

  • A passion for the food industry, sustainability, and technology.

  • (Ideal) experience in founding and operating a business in SaaS or the food industry
