HR Administrative Assistant – Hybrid / Reading Office

We are currently looking for a Human Resources Administrative Assistant to support our Talent Manager. The successful candidate will be highly organised, have exceptional problem-solving and diplomacy skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Strong face-to-face and written communication skills and a proven ability to quickly develop engaging professional relationships are also essential.

Key Duties Will Include

People administration

  • Manage employment status change letters and update the HR database
  • Assist in ensuring that HR documentation is kept up to date
  • Ensure background and reference checks are completed for new hires
  • Create CMAP profiles for new starters and keep them updated
  • Organise the schedule of on-boarding meetings for all new starters
  • Complete employment checks, including verification of right to work
  • Monitor work anniversaries and organise the appropriate acknowledgement
  • Liaise with our benefits providers, providing them with timely information of joiners/leavers
  • Assist employees with HR-related questions

Recruitment

  • Set up remote writing and literacy tests for candidates
  • Share tests with internal senior staff and provide candidates with regular updates
  • Support with the scheduling of interviews
  • Develop electronic files for each candidate
  • Ensure recruitment trackers are kept up to date
  • Advertise entry-level vacancies on university job boards and keep them updated
  • Organise and attend recruitment fairs at universities and other events

General administration

  • Assist in payroll preparation when required
  • Coordinate HR projects and training courses
  • Monitor outstanding leave and provide line managers with timely reports
  • Assist with updating role profiles as appropriate
  • Maintain the freelance database
  • Maintain the internal skills database

Desired background and skills

  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience in an HR administrative role would be an advantage
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, and excellent attention to detail
  • Confident in Microsoft Office suite
  • A strong work ethic and a solution-focused ‘can do’ attitude
