Commercial Catering Engineer Position

A Commercial Catering Engineer is required for a client based on the South Coast near Brighton. The client is a leading commercial catering equipment company serving the catering, hospitality, and public sectors. They provide full turnkey solutions, including service, maintenance, repairs, and installations on all types of commercial catering and refrigeration equipment. This role has arisen due to continued demand and the commencement of new contracts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing catering equipment such as fryers, ovens, microwaves, and steamers. The engineer will attend sites across Kent, from Dover to Dartford, including restaurants, hotels, schools, and bars. Candidates must have Comcat qualifications (such as Comcat 1, 3, and 5) or relevant electrical catering experience.

Position Overview

As a Catering Engineer, your duties will include maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on catering appliances, including cook line equipment and warewashing systems. Experience with Rational ovens and dishwashers is advantageous.

Requirements

• Comcat 1, 3, and 5 qualifications
• Minimum experience working on electrical catering equipment
• Living within Kent, ideally Maidstone, with the ability to travel across Kent
• Industry experience in commercial catering equipment
• Experience in electrical and gas catering equipment repair and maintenance
• Full UK driving license

Remuneration

• Salary between £42,000 and £47,000 depending on experience
• 40-hour workweek
• Door-to-door travel paid
• 1 in 6 weeks call-out rota with paid retainer
• Company van (for personal use) and fuel card
• Overtime at 1.5x and 2x rates
• 21 days holiday, increasing to 25 days after 3 years, plus bank holidays
