We currently have an opportunity for a Demand Performance Manager to join our Water Resources team in Exeter or Bristol. This role involves supporting demand reduction targets by reviewing benefits and optimizing strategies across the South West Water, Bristol Water, Bournemouth Water, and Isles of Scilly regions.

About the role:

The Demand Team develops and reviews strategies for demand reductions as outlined in the Environment Act, including leakage and per capita consumption. They set targets approved by the Executive and deliverables signed off by SWWBB teams. The team provides technical leadership, strategy, and monitoring for demand management over short, medium, and long-term horizons, playing a critical internal educational role on demand planning and delivery. Responsibilities include monitoring, reporting, forecasting, and recommending adjustments to meet demand targets.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Leading daily monitoring, analysis, and forecasting of demand activities within the AMP cycle.
  2. Implementing robust monitoring systems with the MDS team to track benefits and demand changes.
  3. Ensuring compliance of monitoring systems with industry standards and regulations.
  4. Assessing and proposing adaptations to current activities to achieve demand targets, engaging stakeholders for approval and implementation.
  5. Compiling evidence and reviewing initiative performance to inform future investments.
  6. Analyzing water consumption and demand trends, preparing reports on drivers and impacts of demand reduction initiatives.
  7. Presenting findings to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
  8. Maintaining accurate documentation of monitoring activities, data collection, and analysis methodologies.
  9. Conducting audits to verify data accuracy and completeness.
  10. Collaborating with internal teams to understand data needs and priorities.
  11. Ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting to authorities.
  12. Overseeing staff involved in data collection and analysis activities.
  13. Participating in Smart Metering and SDBI delivery teams to achieve program outcomes.
  14. Engaging in research, professional development, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  15. Developing budgets and resource plans aligned with strategic priorities.
What we are looking for:
  • Degree in Scientific, Environmental, or Engineering field.
  • Experience in water resources management, hydrology, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in water demand monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Project management experience, including delivering through others.
  • Knowledge of water management regulations and policies.
  • Strong understanding of hydrological principles related to demand and forecasting.
  • Effective collaboration skills across teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets.

Salary: £44,000 - £48,000 per year.
