Job description

Our client has an opportunity for a Senior Export Contract Manager to join them on a contract basis for an initial 12 months, with potential for extension.

Reporting to the Export Contract Management UK Executive, the successful candidate will demonstrate a broad and deep set of commercial, financial, and project management skills to lead and deliver complex and strategically important export contracts.

Role Details
  • Position: Senior Export Contract Manager
  • Location: Ideally Stevenage; Bristol considered. Hybrid working (3 days onsite) once trained.
  • Hours: 37 per week
  • Security Clearance: BPSS required to start; full SC clearance to follow.
  • Hourly Rate: £70-80 via Umbrella, inside IR35

Travel: Required to UK and European sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the commercial interface into international government and military customers for contract delivery.
  2. Manage multiple cross-domain and geographically diverse contracts simultaneously.
  3. Ensure the contract schedule is delivered to maintain high customer satisfaction and foster strong relationships.
  4. Proactively resolve contract delivery issues through risk and opportunity management.
  5. Lead customer acceptance events, transport delivery solutions, and manage contractual payments.
  6. Maintain coherent communication with customers, government, industrial partners, and internal teams.
  7. Negotiate contract amendments and support sales and business development efforts for international expansion.
  8. Collaborate with national companies (NATCO) in France, Spain, and Italy for export contracts.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and relationship management skills to maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Experience as a senior manager with a track record in commercial contract delivery.
  • Ability to define and communicate strategic objectives in complex political environments.
  • Proven experience leading contract delivery in both bid and execution phases, ideally internationally.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a confident leadership style.
  • Experience managing teams and stakeholder relationships.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and adapt to different cultures.
  • Experience in preparing and authorizing bid submissions, preferably as a Business Bid Authority.
  • Experience working in large, complex, multinational organizations across various functions such as finance, legal, export control, project management, and engineering.
