Job description

A Commercial Catering Engineer is required for a client based on the South Coast near Brighton. The client is a leading commercial catering equipment company serving the catering, hospitality, and public sectors. They provide full turnkey solutions, including service, maintenance, repairs, and installations on all types of commercial catering and refrigeration equipment. This vacancy has arisen due to increased demand and new contracts.

The Commercial Catering Engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting catering equipment such as fryers, ovens, microwaves, and steamers. The engineer will attend sites across Kent, from Dover to Dartford, including restaurants, hotels, schools, and bars. Candidates must hold Comcat qualifications (such as Comcat 1, 3, and 5) or have electrical catering experience.

Position Overview

As a Catering Engineer, your duties will include maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis of catering appliances, including cook line equipment and ware washing systems. Experience with Rational ovens and dishwashers is advantageous.

Requirements

• Comcat 1, 3, and 5 qualifications
• Experience working on electrical catering equipment
• Residence within Kent, preferably Maidstone, with the ability to travel across Kent
• Industry experience in commercial catering equipment
• Experience in electrical and gas catering equipment repair and maintenance
• Full UK driving license
• Experience with Rational and dishwashers is a plus

Remuneration

• Salary between £42,000 and £47,000, depending on experience
• 40-hour workweek
• Door-to-door travel paid
• On-call rota (1 in 6 weeks) with paid retainer
• Company van (for personal use) and fuel card
• Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x rates
• 21 days holiday, increasing to 25 days after 3 years, plus bank holidays
