Job Title: General Services Manager
Salary: Up to GBP45,000 per annum

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a General Services Manager with a specialization in Facilities Management and IOSH. This challenging and rewarding role is based on a static site in Tutbury, where you will lead a dedicated team to ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of the site for Facilities Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the service at the point of delivery exceeds the required standards, providing the best quality service at all times, and that the contract meets client objectives regarding finance and operational KPIs.
- Understand the services offered by the client and the end-to-end processes involved in delivering these services, enabling effective communication with clients and Business Managers.
- Regularly walk the services provided to ensure the highest standards as per the contract specifications.
- Communicate effectively with your team through formal and structured channels to support the implementation of new initiatives aligned with the Go for Growth Strategy.
- Review opportunities to enhance client revenue and labour productivity and ensure these are implemented.
- Liaise directly with customers via your management team to ensure service offerings meet or exceed their expectations, utilizing tools such as customer feedback surveys and needs profiling.
- Investigate and address failures in compliance or initiatives to improve performance.
- Take a hands-on approach to all services as needed.
- Review audits (e.g., Safeguard, SIA/Security, Food Service, Cleaning, Business Health Checks) to ensure completion within agreed timescales and that actions are implemented.
- Conduct regular audits of operational procedures against specifications to monitor compliance.
- Attend monthly GSM meetings, training sessions, and site visits to network and gain subject knowledge.
- Hold your team accountable for delivering key objectives, following performance management procedures if objectives are not met.
- Ensure employees undergo comprehensive induction and ongoing training.
- Set and review targets and objectives regularly, aligning with the Performance Development Review process.
- Conduct formal reviews monthly and a comprehensive annual Performance Development Review, including six-monthly reviews.
- Coach and mentor your team to foster development.
- Implement a structured approach to consequence management, rewarding good performance and addressing underperformance following HR procedures.
- Support Learning and Development programs and identify personal development needs.
- Develop your team’s abilities through continuous development and nominations for learning activities.
