Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Endoscopy Team Leader to join the Gastrointestinal Medicine Team. We are looking for applicants with experience of leading a team and who are passionate about delivering excellent patient care.

As Team Leader, you will provide leadership and operational support to the Endoscopy Service. You will manage an administrative team responsible for endoscopy bookings, patient queries, and supporting medical staff. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in managing cancer waiting times, DM01 performance, and waiting lists.

We seek an individual with proven leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a team player with extensive knowledge of patient pathways and administrative procedures, dedicated to delivering a positive patient experience and effective support to the multidisciplinary team.

The candidate should have a patient-centered approach and experience working within a busy NHS environment, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively.

Main duties of the job
  1. Team management: Supervise and support administrative staff to provide high-quality service, monitor performance, targets, and quality metrics, and promote good practices, including audits on:
  • Performance against waiting time targets
  • Service utilization
  • Service accessibility
  • Information governance
  • Service Improvement and Development: Contribute to initiatives and projects to optimize resource use and patient experience, analyze performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes.
