Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry-leading technologies to support diagnostic testing, which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

We are looking for a Regional Team Leader (remote role – candidate should be based in South East UK) within our Rapid Diagnostics business, regionally across the UK. This role involves leading and managing a team of Collecting Officers responsible for collecting legally defensible samples for our customers in the South East region.

Main accountabilities
  1. Train team members in all collection methodologies and complete onboarding, ensuring comprehensive understanding of collection processes and documentation.
  2. Manage a standby rota for the Collection Network Emergency Response Call Out Service to meet business KPIs.
  3. Participate in an out-of-hours Duty Manager rota, providing support and guidance to Collecting Officers and the Customer Service Centre (CSC).
  4. Ensure collections are allocated efficiently to the nearest, available, and trained Collecting Officers.
  5. Line manage Collecting Officers, using trend data to reduce complaints and improve service quality.
  6. Conduct audits as per schedule and perform spot audits on your team; support audits of other teams as needed.
  7. Identify and support recruitment of Collecting Officers.
  8. Manage collection kits and equipment, and process leavers in our system with future end dates.
  9. Oversee stock and equipment management to prevent excess holdings and reduce waste.
  10. Ensure health and safety standards are met, including compliance with the Working Time Directive (WTD), monitoring on-call and routine work, and supporting the wellbeing of Collecting Officers through appropriate leave management.
  11. Regularly conduct customer collections across all testing methodologies to maintain competency, provide training, and perform audits.

  • Strong managerial and leadership skills, capable of motivating a team in a busy environment.
  • Experience managing remote workers.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve customer queries promptly.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in IT, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
