Water Plus is seeking a Sales Manager to oversee the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to contract management. The successful candidate will develop key relationships, ensuring compliance and enhancing acquisition strategies. This role requires exceptional communication and negotiation skills, along with a degree or equivalent experience. Extensive travel across the UK is required.
As a key player in our Retail Water sales team at Water Plus, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, from identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to developing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers and brokers. Your role will involve generating leads, negotiating and acquiring new business, and ensuring all activities align with our strategic goals. You will be instrumental in collating and sharing market insights to enhance our acquisition strategy, arranging and attending meetings across the UK, and leading the production of contractual agreements. Your exceptional communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills will be crucial in a fast-paced, target-focused environment. As an ambassador of Water Plus, you will represent us at networking events, trade shows, and forums, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal obligations. Your proactive, driven, and flexible approach will help you thrive in this dynamic role.
Please note that we have an office in both Stoke-on-Trent and Glasgow that can be utilised by the successful candidate.
Overall purpose of the job
Responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, including identifying and pursuing relevant new business opportunities, seeking and exploring new ways to improve and expand growth and developing and maintaining long term relationships with existing and potential customers/brokers to increase revenue and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships in both the customers’/brokers organisation and Water Plus
Responsible for generating and identifying leads, negotiating and acquiring new business, requiring detailed commercial negotiation, internal governance sign off and stakeholder management.
Collate and share customer and market insight to support Water Plus goals and objectives and utilise the intelligence to positively impact acquisition strategy.
Arrange and attend meeting with brokers and customers across the UK
To lead in production of contractual agreements and facilitate the onboarding and smooth handover of newly acquired customers.
Seek and explore new ways to improve and expand new business acquisition
To build, manage and maintain a substantial pipeline and to ensure that all pipeline activity is accurately documented and kept up-to-date in the CRM System
To represent Water Plus at appropriate networking events, trade shows and forums acting as an ambassador of Water Plus.
To ensure the quality of all customer and internal interactions, ensuring quality assurance, compliance, regulatory and legal obligations are met.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
Demonstrate strong negotiation and influencing skills to achieve customer and business focussed outcomes
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively with minimal supervision, identifying the need for support when required

Desirable knowledge experience and skills
Previous experience of working on CRM
Previous experience of working within Water industry or other Utilities industries
Previous experience of delivering large value sales contracts
Knowledge of Mecoms
Education and qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent level of workplace/industry experience.
Any other relevant information
The job holder must have a full driving licence as extensive travel across the UK and regular weekly/monthly visits, as directed, to Head office will be required.
There is a requirement to be flexible and work out of hours and at multiple locations as required.
Salary Banding
£47,500 to £58,500
