E-Commerce Assistant

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a patient-centred charity providing palliative and end-of-life care to those with advanced, life-limiting illnesses in Northwest Surrey. We support patients, families, and carers both in the community and at our In-Patient Unit and Well Being Centre.

Retail Colleague Requirements

A successful E-Commerce Assistant will be:

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Photographic flair
  • Numerate and literate with strong grammar skills
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks
  • Capable of calculating and recording basic sums for banking and trading statements
  • Basic IT skills
  • Understanding of the current ecommerce environment
  • Effective communicator, both face-to-face and in writing
  • Knowledge of safe working practices

A successful candidate will also have:

  • Relevant sector training and qualifications
  • Experience with online selling (personal or professional)
  • Knowledge of postal systems, picking, and packing
  • Microsoft Excel skills
  • Interest in current trends and fashion
  • Understanding of Gift Aid and its importance for income growth
  • Knowledge of courier postage options
  • Familiarity with resale markets and online marketplaces

Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required.

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order). A Disclosure check will be conducted via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to review any criminal convictions.
