Job summary

Gap Personnel Limited is seeking a Transport Planner for an office-based role in Wales. You will organise and coordinate delivery and collection routes, oversee driver workloads and ensure smooth freight movements across the distribution network.

The role offers a rotating shift pattern with early/late hours and occasional Saturday mornings. A temporary-to-permanent opportunity may arise, with a permanent position possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning, traffic management or similar logistics role.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and workload.
• Attention to detail with a proactive approach to issues.
• Ability to build effective relationships with drivers, customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and adjust delivery and collection routes to meet demand.
• Coordinate with drivers, customers and network partners for efficient workloads.
• Brief drivers before departure and debrief on return, resolving issues.
• Work with warehouse to ensure pallets are scanned and loaded correctly.
• Liaise with customers to arrange collections and confirm volumes.
• Investigate service failures and identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor service levels, costs and KPIs.
• Complete paperwork, scans and shift handovers.
• Support traffic office and operations for an efficient service.
