Job summary

Pier (UK) Ltd, Newton-le-Willows depot, is seeking a Transport Planner to manage the daily movement of vehicles, operators and hire equipment from the depot network. You will coordinate between depots and customer sites to keep operations running smoothly and respond quickly to changes in plan.

The role is permanent and full-time, offering a supportive team environment, pension, and holiday entitlement. You will liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure accurate scheduling and records

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning or scheduling.
• Strong communication with operators, depot teams and customers.
• Able to adapt to last-minute changes in plans.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily/weekly allocations for vehicles, operators and hire equipment.
• Coordinate movements between depots and customer sites.
• Liaise with customers on site access, timings and changes.
• React to breakdowns, cancellations and short-notice demand.
• Maintain records in planning and hire systems.
