Job summary

Jobsworth Recruitment Solutions LTD is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join the busy transport operation. The role focuses on planning and coordinating daily transport activities, maximising fleet utilisation and ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time.

The ideal candidate will have previous transport planning experience, strong knowledge of UK road networks, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Transport Planner or Transport Coordinator role.
• Strong knowledge of transport operations and UK road networks.
• Understanding of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and transport compliance.
• Ability to plan routes, manage fleets and driver resources.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to participate in on-call and weekend rota.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules, collections and deliveries to meet customer requirements.
• Allocate vehicles, drivers and loads to maximize fleet utilisation and minimise costs.
• Produce effective route plans considering priorities, capacity and hours.
• Monitor operations and respond to delays, breakdowns, cancellations while maintaining safety and compliance.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, warehouse teams and management.
• Provide customers with accurate delivery updates and resolve transport queries.
