Job summary

PPM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head Chef for a permanent role in Royston. You will lead the kitchen, oversee food preparation and service, and ensure high standards of hygiene and presentation. The position offers 40 hours per week and a pay rate of £21.29 per hour including holiday.

The ideal candidate will have senior kitchen experience, strong leadership, and a proven track record of managing stocks, costs and team training in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Head Chef or in a senior kitchen role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and hygiene.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• Reliable, organized and professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team on a day-to-day basis.
• Plan and oversee food preparation and service.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
• Manage stock levels, ordering and kitchen supplies.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized and compliant with regulations.
• Support and train junior members of the kitchen team.
• Monitor food costs and minimise waste.
• Work closely with management to deliver an excellent service.
