Job summary

Fairway Primary Academy invites applications for a SENDCo (Qualified) maternity cover. This part-time role, 3 days per week, runs from January 2027 to October 2027 and is offered on a fixed-term basis.

The successful candidate will lead SEND provision, ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and collaborate with staff, families and external agencies to secure excellent outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Qualifications

• Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or is a qualified SENDCo.
• Experience leading SEND provision in a primary school.
• Knowledge of current SEND legislation and practice.
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
• Ability to work with school leaders, staff, families and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school.
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate support for pupils with SEND and monitor the impact of interventions.
• Work closely with teachers to ensure high-quality adaptive teaching for all learners.
• Liaise effectively with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Lead EHCP applications, reviews and annual review meetings.
• Support staff development through coaching, training and professional guidance.
• Promote an inclusive culture where every child feels valued, supported and successful.
