Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Accrington and surrounding areas in local primary schools. Flexible full- or part-time placements are available, with day-to-day, short-term and long-term roles to fit your commitments.

You will work with EYFS to KS2, provide 1:1 support, support children with SEND, deliver small-group interventions, and help with literacy, numeracy and phonics while promoting confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people
• Experience within a primary school or similar setting
• Teaching Assistant qualification or suitable experience
• Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic temperament
• Confident supporting children with varying needs and abilities

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Provide 1:1 support for individual pupils
• Support children with SEND and additional needs
• Deliver small-group interventions
• Support literacy, numeracy and phonics development
• Help children develop confidence and independence
• Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparation
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement
• Work closely with the class teacher and school team
• Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
